About Grande River Vineyards
Richard and Jean Tally purchased Grande River Vineyard on June 17, 2021 and created a new entity, Ten Acre Winery LLC/DBA Grande River Vineyards. Their daughter Anne joined as a partner in December of 2022. Each partner lends special expertise to different aspects of the operation.
Significant growth is reflected by the addition of a Front Range Sales Manger in 2022 to work through Republic National Distributors and new retail sales outlets King Soopers and select City market grocery stores, Total Wine, Applejacks and others.
Ten Acre Winery/Grande River Vineyards joins the Tally family-owned adjacent property Wine Country Inn, and the Ten Acre Farm vineyard operation to form a Destination Wine Estate.
Grande River Vineyards was founded in 1987, the fifth Colorado winery to be licensed, when industry pioneer Stephen Smith planted his first vines. GRV fermented its first wine in 1990. Until 2006, it was the largest grape producer in the state. More recently, the winery has produced about 5,000 cases per year.
Over the decades GRV has chalked up a rich history as Colorado’s premier estate-grown wine producer. From its location at the base of the state’s western Little Bookcliffs mountain range near the Colorado River, Ten Acre Winery/GRV is primed for new growth and innovation.
Our Team
As operators of Wine Country Inn and two other hotels, the Tally’s role is to identify the synergies among the businesses and to keep things perking along. Richard has degrees in accounting and 50 plus years in business, while Jean has a Journalism degree and decades of experience in reporting, editing, advertising and marketing.
With a merchandising degree and years of retail experience, Anne handles buying and merchandising goods that guests love to take home along with their GRV wines. She is super busy handling our internet marketing and lending a hand on planning and promoting special events.
Our Vineyard Manager and Winemaker has 20 plus years tending vines and making award-winner wined in the Grand Valley AVA. His passion for his craft is our secret sauce for producing great wines.
In constant motion and not easily daunted, Victoria is the driving force to get our wines in front of Coloradans state-wide. We continue to grow, thanks to her success!
That friendly face that welcomes you reflects a love of good wine and a depth of knowledge about our wines. She makes your wine experience enjoyable as well as memorable.
Onyx has so many talents, it’s hard to zero in on any one. Not only does she keep our production data straight, she also is great at sales, is knowledgable about wines and continues to learn about multiple aspects of wine making. She also is a super mom and a talented artist.
